Mindfulness

Mindfulness is defined as bringing one’s complete attention to the present experience. Mindful Nutrition involves paying careful attention to the act of eating. If one cares for the inside, the outside will follow.

Westwood Young Women's Club Cookbook 2003/4

2 egg whites
1 cup sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1 pound pecans
1/4 cup melted butter

1. Toast pecans in a 350 oven for 5 minutes.
2. Beat egg whites in a bowl until stiff peaks form. Add sugar and salt and mix well. Stir in pecans and butter. Spread mixture on an ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake at 300 for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Transfer to waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container.

Fill a plastic bag with sugared nuts and tie with a pretty ribbon. Place in a handmade bowl. It makes a lovely hostess gift for all the parties of the season.
